The Studio was founded by producer Yoshiaki Nishimura (who produced When Marnie Was There and The Tale Of Princess Kaguya) and was started by a bunch of Ghibli employees including director Hiromasa Yonebayashi who directed Mary and the Witch's Flower. The studios founding was not based on some sort of hatred toward Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.
