Fluoxetine comes as a capsule, a tablet, a delayed-release (releases the medication in the intestine) capsule, and a solution (liquid) to take by mouth. Fluoxetine may be taken with or without food. Fluoxetine capsules, tablets, and liquid are usually taken once a day in the morning or twice a day in the morning and at noon.
Adults—At first, 20 milligrams (mg) of fluoxetine and 5 mg of olanzapine once a day, taken in the evening. Your doctor may adjust your dose as needed. However, the dose is usually not more than 50 mg of fluoxetine and 20 mg of olanzapine per day. Children—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.
