The movie is extremely polished to the point of being an Oceans 11 caper and is far too neat and tidy to be 100% true. It is however a brilliant story that focuses on the tragic tale of victims which are never depicted as male and their ability to seek justice through violence or manipulating the court system in all too familiar ways.
