In fact, a gaming PC only needs a powerful video card and any processor between core i3 8100 up to i7 8700k. Core i9 exclusively for gaming is a waste of money.

It would seem 14th gen desktop CPU's are a refresh of Raptor Lake so you will be looking at the same basic core architecture. As a result it's unlikely to have an impact on gaming related activities and VR.
