Steven Knight was born on 5 August 1959, in Marlborough, England, as the seventh child of George and Ida Knight. His father was a blacksmith and few months after he was born, the family moved to Birmingham. Steven was the first in his family to pursue higher education when he joined the University College, London to do BA Hons in English.
