If you're talking about the "General Release" version on the Criterion, I believe it is the same film scan as the MGM but has undergone a bit of additional color work. I can't compare them side by side, but my eye tells me the MGM is slightly more contrasty and that the Criterion is a little more ...

Jan 20, 2014 · A wild, hilarious chase picture, It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World has finally arrived via Criterion and they’ve done a fine job with their efforts. In any event, this is a very cool movie and while the abundance of cameos gets tiresome, the flick still levels off at a high plateau, so I am very pleased to be able to own this edition.
