Steinbeck like Hemingway, Dos Passos and a lot of other lefties and semi-lefties was, indeed quite sympathetic to workers and the dispossessed but THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH THE COMMUNISTS AND, FOR THE MOST PART THE IWW.
