Going postal is one of the more popular books in the discworld series and in this movie you find out why. The story is a stand alone about a con man trying to revive the postal service. All other characters from the discworld are cameos, magic and it's rules don't come into play. The movie has flaws.

And that was the thing with this movie. It is simply brilliant. It made the world of Moist and the story of 'Going Postal' come to life. It's a long movie, sure. It doesn't follow the book 100%, so what? What really caught my eye about this movie and what made me buy it in the end was the high markings and reviews this had received.

Especially when you consider that a lot of the magic of Discworld is the verbal humour - puns, footnotes and other plays on language, so translating that into a mostly visual medium is no mean task. It's really great. Claire Foy is perfectly cast as Adora Belle Dearheart, as is David Suchet as Reacher Gilt.
