He was also a screenwriter for both film and television. Among his credits were numerous episodes for classic TV productions of The Twilight Zone, Star Trek and Route 66. He retired in the early 1970s but continued to write and publish; his last work was published in 1999. Jerry Sohl died in Thousand Oaks, California on November 4, 2002.
