"The Horse Soldiers" is a 1959 war film directed by John Ford. For all considerable purposes, the film holds the typical Ford western topes by design, but as its probably easy to just accustom the film directly within the western genre at face value, the holdings of the film taking place in the Civil War really speaks otherwise.
