Willson Eduardo Contreras (born May 13, 1992) is a Venezuelan professional baseball catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Chicago Cubs. Contreras made his MLB debut in 2016 and was a member of the 2016 World Series champions.
Willson Contreras enjoyed a breakout season with Double-A Tennessee, leading the Southern League in batting average (.333/151-for-454) en route to earning Cubs Minor League Player of the Year honors. Became the first Tennessee player to win the league batting title since Joe Gate in 1978.
