Keller helpfully emphasizes the neglected aspects of the parable - the focus on the older son, the theme of exile and return, the importance of the previous two parables as context for the two lost sons.

When it comes to writing about nature, Barbara Kingsolver has few equals among fiction authors. Her descriptions are deeply appreciative, deeply insightful, lush and evocative.
