The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at Portland State University is a cultural and intellectual laboratory that explores ideas relevant to our time through the lens of art, opens the university to its communities, and inspires students and the public to build a just world. The museum occupies 7,500 square feet on two floors overlooking SW Broadway.
The JSMA is accessible to wheelchair users and other visitors who need to avoid stairs. Ramps lead into the front entrance and visitors with mobility issues may enter through the back security entrance. A wheelchair is available free of charge from our security entrance on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance reservations are not available.
Accompanying the exhibition is a fully illustrated catalog, with essays by co-curators Jill Hartz, executive director, and Danielle Knapp, McCosh Associate Curator, at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, and Lawrence Fong, former curator of American and regional art at the museum.
The JSMA offers an active program for youth and families.
