IMO: Pat Smear was an official member. Kurt wanted him in the band. Kurt referred to him as a “new member” in interviews. Kurt per Pat intended for Pat to add guitar parts to YKYR, but then the tragic events of April 94 happened. Kurt’s last known performance (3/25/94) was with Pat.
