The crew of the Enterprise-D crew has to stop them. It’s unarguably the best TNG Star Trek movie (not the highest bar, to be fair) with a neat plot and some very memorable scenes.

The Borg that traveled back in time from 2373 in First Contact managed to send a subspace message to the Delta Quadrant that T'Pol said would take 'at least 200 years' to be received. So sometime between 2353 and 2365 (when Q introduced the Enterprise-D to the Borg), they received this transmission and were aware of Earth's exact location.

But as it is there is no new series of the Star Trek franchise so I'm stuck with the old stuff and reviewed Voyager for the n'th time. So I'm kinda glad they made some more episodes, even though the bulk of them are not worth watching them. –
