Philip V (Spanish: Felipe; 19 December 1683 – 9 July 1746) was King of Spain from 1 November 1700 to 14 January 1724 and again from 6 September 1724 to his death in 1746. His total reign (45 years and 16 days) is the longest in the history of the Spanish monarchy, surpassing Philip IV.

King of Spain (1700–46). He was Philip of Anjou, the younger grandson of Louis XIV, and succeeded under the terms of the will of the last Habsburg king, Charles II. It was Louis XIV's acceptance of this will that plunged Europe into the War of the Spanish Succession. Philip's claim was confirmed at the Peace of Utrecht.
