Feb 18, 2024 · The story of Busch Stadium begins with its inception in the mid-1960s. As the replacement for the aging Sportsman’s Park, the new stadium was part of a wave of multipurpose sports complexes designed during this era. Opened in 1966, the original Busch Memorial Stadium was a circular, cookie-cutter structure, a hallmark design of the time.
Busch Stadium’s outfield view ranks pretty high up there. Since the park is situated in the city (as a ballpark should be!), you get amazing skyline views of the Arch and surrounding buildings, including the oddly circular Millennium Hotel Tower.
