David Wright, a Nashville based artist, periodically departs the 20th century for destinations in the 18th and 19th centuries. He travels back to the raw and often savage American frontier of the fur traders, trappers, the long hunters and mountain men.
David Wright is best known for his paintings of the early American frontier and the people who shaped it. His focus on the frontiersman archetype, or “longhunter,” helped to establish his reputation as one of the top artists working in this genre.
