Dec 5, 2023 · The Terminal was inspired by the true story of Mehran Karimi Nasseri, an Iranian refugee who lived in an airport terminal for 18 years. The movie, while based on Nasseri's story, fictionalizes many aspects and changes the setting to New York's John F. Kennedy Airport.
