  6. apricot18 Nov 01 2007. If you found a copy of this fifty year old LP in your loft you might be delighted how cohesive and satisfactory this first album by the seventeen year old TV star was. The double bass has a far better feel than on subsequent albums and the EG is not inferior.

Ricky sings the ballads and country rock with assurance but lacks the fire and exuberance to bring off the rockers, especially on cliched or much-covered material. Strangely his demeanor suits the more down-hearted country tinged and ballad material. Drum and rhythm guitar sounds here are very thin.
