Christopher Murray Alexander Law (born 21 October 1969) is a Scottish National Party (SNP) politician. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dundee West since 2015. He was first elected at the 2015 general election, [1] [2] winning a seat that had been held by Labour for the previous 65 years. [3]
Chris Law is a UT Provost's Early Career Fellow who is affiliated with the Kemp Lab. His research interests include functional morphology, phylogenetic comparative methods, natural history, mammalogy, and evolution.
Chris was a leading Yes campaigner in the 2014 referendum, founding the Spirit of Independence road tour of communities in a refurbished Green Goddess fire engine, which attracted both national and international interest.

Chris Law was formerly the SNP spokesperson on International Development at Westminster. He stood down in December 2022 when Stephen Flynn became the SNP’s Westminster leader. Born in 1969, Chris Law was educated at St Andrews University.
