Jun 24, 2010 · This was an interesting sketch of Ashby. It is a little difficult to read in certain points, possibly due to the difference in writing styles of today and 100+ years ago. The writer is very much taken with Ashby, almost to the point of being worshipful. All in all an interesting book for the civil war buff about a lesser known CSA general.

Here is a book that the eminent Confederate chaplain, J. William Jones, who labored with the Army of Northern Virginia said, " ...should be in every library." Regrettably, biographies of men like Turner Ashby (1828-1862) are not in every library, but they should be in your library.
