Island in the Desert {parts 1 & 2} Plot. Year 1873. Trying to track a fugitive named Dixon who killed a Sherriff while escaping, Festus Hagan is ambushed by Dixon and left for dead in the desert. Festus life is saved by half mad desert hermit named Ben Snow who lives in a cave with a spring.
Island in the Desert: Part 2: Directed by Gunnar Hellström. With James Arness, Milburn Stone, Ken Curtis, Buck Taylor. Festus and the hermit come upon killer Gard Dixon dying in the desert, and when Festus helps him recover, the hermit forces both of them to tote water and gold dust.
