Actor: The Dybbuk. Max Bozyk was born in Lodz (pronounced Wooj - but often Anglicized to sound like Ludz), Poland, in 1888, where he first performed in Yiddish theater and films. It was also there that he met his wife Reizl Bozyk, who accompanied him on stage as the second half of a comedy team.

Max Bozyk. Yiddish Theatrical Alliance Section/Block 67, ref. 1, section A-D, line 19, grave 21. Actor. Born in Lodz, Poland, he began his career performing in the Yiddish theater before relocating to America. He made his film debut in Yidle with a Fiddle (1936), followed by The Dybbuk (1937).
BOZYK, MAX (1899–1970), Yiddish comic actor. Born in Lodz, Bozyk was touring in Argentina when Poland was overrun by the Germans in 1939. He and his wife, Rose (Reyzl), reached New York in 1941 and soon became a popular comedy touring team in the U.S. and Canada.
