Celestial Seasonings has origins dating back to 1969 when co-founders Mo Siegel and Wyck Hay gathered wild herbs in the area of the Rocky Mountains and used them to make herbal teas. The tea was then packaged and sold to local health food stores with the help of wives and friends.
In 1969, one of Celestial Seasonings founders, Mo Siegel, handpicked wild herbs from the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and used them to make our first tea. In the following years, he sold Mo’s 36 and 24 Herb Teas to health food stores, eventually selling them in hand-sewn muslin bags.
He has hosted a Urantia Book study group since 1972. During the past forty-five years Mo has served on the boards of three organizations solely dedicated to The Urantia Book. He has been a trustee of Urantia Foundation since 1998.
