River John is an unincorporated community in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Canada. [1] It is located near the mouth of the River John on the Northumberland Strait, halfway between Pictou and Tatamagouche near the boundary with Colchester County. It is on Nova Scotia Trunk 6 and the designated tourist route, the Sunrise Trail.

River John is a river in Nova Scotia. Draining the extreme western part of Pictou County, it flows into Amet Sound on the Northumberland Strait at River John, a village which takes its name from the river.
River John is known for its natural beauty, the residents’ community pride, and the annual week-long River John Festival Days held each July. The River John Festival Days’ history dates back to 1985 when River John celebrated its 200th Birthday with a week-long festival.
