Later in 1998, the band released their next album, Morgue, a concept album with lyrics based on the poems of expressionist writer Gottfried Benn. In 1999, they released a remix album, Re-Laborat, that included Das Ich songs remixed by popular electro-industrial bands including And One, Funker Vogt, Wumpscut, and VNV Nation.

Jan 26, 2007 · Morgue surprised me a lot because I thought that Das Ich was developing towards a more danceable music as it's shown in Egodram. But this band made their quietest and most intimate album, and except one or two songs, the other relay on slow, climatic rhythms and a voice which usually recites and whispers more than sings as in Egodram.
