Years active. 1941–1998. Theodore Gerard Bergmann (September 12, 1920 – March 2, 2014) was an American television and radio producer, screenwriter, announcer, network and advertising executive. He worked for the Dumont Television Network in the 1940s and 1950s.

Dec 2, 2014 · Ted Bergmann, the first producer of the annual GRAMMY Awards telecast, died March 2 following surgery in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 93. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Bergmann launched his broadcast career in the early '40s as a page for NBC Radio City Studios.

We're sad to learn of the passing of Television and Advertising Executive Ted Bergmann, who died on March 2, 2014 at the age of 93. Bergmann started his career as an NBC page, but soon went to work in advertising sales for DuMont, eventually becoming Managing Director of the Broadcast Division.
