Bob Weinstein founded Dimension Films in 1991 as a genre film division of Miramax Films. It became part of The Walt Disney Company when Miramax was purchased by Disney in 1993, and later became a part of The Weinstein Company after the Weinstein brothers left Miramax in 2005.
