By 2008, Wilson had returned to music with his third solo album, "A Second Coming." It received a rave review from Billboard Magazine's gospel editor, Gordon Ely, but the Dallas Morning News' reporter, Selwyn Crawford, was less enthusiastic.

After graduating from Claflin University and doing master’s study at Princeton University Theological Seminary, he returned to the music scene in 2008 with the “A Second Coming” album. After a few years of figuring out his adult musical style, he locked it in and released the Billboard Magazine Top 15 Gospel Airplay hit, “Turning Away.”
