Nov 24, 2021 · Blackboard has always been a pain, I used to have to admin it and even with some of the UI refreshes they have done, they don't seem overly interested in actually improving the system. The last college I worked at was a two year like the one your at and they were using a system called Tovuti.

Mar 8, 2021 · For students: Canvas is better. For instructors: Blackboard is better. Even though the UI in Blackboard is ages behind Canvas, it is functionally better than Canvas. Canvas has some serious gaps in its basic functionality, and there is at least one server outage a week. From: Former Blackboard admin; now Canvas admin.
Aug 13, 2020 · Moving from Blackboard to Canvas. Blackboard was the LMS until Fall 2020 (there was a pilot program to test Canvas before Fall 2020). SDSU will be fully on Canvas from Summer 2021. Fall 2020/Winter 2021/Spring 2021: can be either Blackboard or Canvas. They definitely use both, but idk why.

Jan 23, 2023 · It's one of the very few online classes that actually teach you something, but blackboard makes it extremely tedious. Make sure you do every single clickable thing in each module. EVERY. SINGLE. CLICKABLE. THING. Also, good luck and godspeed. Fixing programs is a fustercluck everywhere.
Nov 6, 2022 · Whiteboards all the way for a few reasons: One problem with blackboards is that poorly maintained, scratched up blackboards are not cleaned very well by dry erasers. You get this white haze all across the board. This is typically an issue with blackboards in classrooms, which have naturally seen heavy use.
Oct 15, 2016 · This is my first semester teaching an online class. Using Blackboard (also my first time using Blackboard as faculty, though I used it as a student in grad school). Also, I am a relatively new adjunct. This is my fourth semester teaching. Due to a colleague having a heart attack, I am teaching 15 hours at two universities.
