Carmine Appice (/ ˈ k ɑːr m aɪ n æ ˈ p iː s / Italian: [ˈkarmine ˈappitʃe]; born December 15, 1946) is an American rock drummer. He is best known for his associations with Vanilla Fudge ; Cactus ; the power trio Beck, Bogert & Appice ; Rod Stewart ; King Kobra ; and Blue Murder .
- Vanilla Fudge – “Ticket to Ride” (1967) First album, first track. This is where it all begins for Carmine, in this rock institution of a band. Vanilla Fudge were like the New York version of Mk.
- Vanilla Fudge – “You Keep Me Hanging On” (1967) This is the Fudge’s biggest song, a cover of the half Motown, half psychedelic Holland-Dozier-Holland classic, made famous by The Supremes a year previous.
- Cactus – “Parchman Farm” (1970) Sure, it’s a Mose Allison song, but “Parchman Farm” is one of Cactus’ most famed rave-ups, their Ten Years After “I’m Going Home,” as it were.
- Cactus – “Rock ‘n’ Roll Children” (1971) Wanted to pop in a Cactus original here, with this One Way…Or Another track demonstrating the band’s cool hard southern sound, reminiscent of Foghat, ZZ Top and The Pat Travers Band.
