Let's Make It Legal is a 1951 American comedy film made by 20th Century-Fox, directed by Richard Sale and produced by Robert Bassler from a screenplay by I.A.L. Diamond and F. Hugh Herbert, based on a story by Mortimer Braus entitled "My Mother-in-Law, Miriam".
Reporters take photographs of Miriam with Hugh, and the next day, the newspapers are filled with scandalous stories about Victor's fiancée and her ex-husband. An indignant Victor chastises Miriam and warns her that they must postpone their wedding until after he has received his appointment.

A still-gorgeous grandmother (Claudette Colbert) divorces her husband Hugh (Macdonald Carey) because he's a compulsive gambler. Their daughter (Barbara Bates) does all she can to get them back together, but problems arise when Victor (Zachary Scott), Mom's high school sweetheart-turned-millionaire, suddenly arrives in town.
