Cecil James Gilbert (5 May 1923 – 7 July 2016) was a Scottish television producer and director. He was the BBC's Head of Comedy from 1973–77. [1] He was probably best known for his work on The Two Ronnies, Last of the Summer Wine and Open All Hours.
