    Baldwin states that Rothilde's date of birth -- and place of birth -- is unknown. Cawley states that Rothildis was born about 871 and died 22 Mar 929.

    Rothilde's father was Charles II "the Bald", king of the Western Franks and Emperor, who died in 877. Baldwin states that Rothilde's mother, living in 910, was Richilde, daughter of count Bivin.
