Amy Poehler ( / ˈpoʊlər / POH-lər; born September 16, 1971) [1] is an American actress and comedian. After studying improv at Chicago 's Second City and ImprovOlympic in the early 1990s, Poehler co-founded the improvisational-comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade.
Having played one of her first roles in the indie Wet Hot American Summer (2001), she reprised her role in the television mini-series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp (2015) and Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later (2017).
