Susan Alexandra "Sigourney" Weaver (/ s ɪ ˈ ɡ ɔːr n i /; born October 8, 1949) is an American actress and film producer. Prolific in film since the late 1970s, she is known for her portrayals of strong women in science fiction and horror franchises, and for her roles in blockbusters.
