Rex Elvie Allen Sr. (December 31, 1920 – December 17, 1999), known as "the Arizona Cowboy", was an American film and television actor, singer and songwriter; he was also the narrator of many Disney nature and Western productions.
Rex Allen was a versatile performer who started as a vaudeville singer and became a popular singing cowboy in western movies and TV shows. He also voiced many nature documentaries for Walt Disney and performed the theme song for The Magical World of Disney.

Dec 16, 1999 · TUCSON (AP) — Western movies singer-actor Rex Allen Sr. died of his injuries Friday several hours after he was hit by a car in his own driveway.Allen, 77, was trapped.
Rex was the last of the Hollywood singing cowboy stars and was also known for narrating the Walt Disney nature films. His big break came just after World War II when he became a featured performer on radio's The National Barn Dance.
