He achieved worldwide recognition for various roles including that of the evil henchman Nick Nack in the James Bond film, The Man with the Golden Gun, as well as Mr. Roarke's assistant, Tattoo, in the television series Fantasy Island.
The son of leading Parisian surgeon and wartime resistance hero André Villechaize, Hervé spent much of his childhood and youth undergoing brutal treatments at clinics in England, Germany and the US in an effort to cure his condition, including the injection of sheep marrow into his spine.
