Richard Dale Jenkins (born May 4, 1947) is an American actor. He is well known for his portrayal of deceased patriarch Nathaniel Fisher on the HBO funeral drama series Six Feet Under (2001–2005). He began his career in theater at the Trinity Repertory Company and made his film debut in 1974.

Richard Jenkins is an American actor who has worked in film and television since the 1980s. He has been nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actor for The Shape of Water (2017).
Richard Jenkins has been married to Sharon R. Friedrick since August 23, 1969. They have a son, Andrew Dale Jenkins, and a daughter, Sarah Pamela Jenkins. At present, the couple lives in Cumberland, Rhode Island. They were given the Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement from Trinity Repertory Company in Providence in 2014.
