Jimmie Walker. James Carter Walker Jr. (born June 25, 1947) is an American actor and comedian. Childhood & Early Life. Jimmie Walker was born James Carter Walker Jr., in The Bronx, New York City, to James Carter Walker sr. and Lorena Walker, on June 25, 1947. He lived in a black neighbourhood. His father was a Pullman porter while his mother worked in odd jobs, and eventually became head of the nursing department in a local hospital.
