In the World Series, Glavine threw eight-shutout innings in Game 6 against a powerful Indians lineup, earning a 1-0 victory and wrapping up the Fall Classic title for the Braves. He was named the World Series Most Valuable Player after going 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA.
