Brian Ernest Orser OC (born 18 December 1961) is a Canadian former competitive and professional figure skater and coach to Olympic champions. He is the 1984 and 1988 Olympic silver medallist, 1987 World champion and eight-time (1981–88) Canadian national champion.
One of the world’s leading figure skaters in the 1980s, Canada’s Brian Orser won two Olympic silver medals before becoming a coach and choreographer and helping South Korea’s Yuna Kim win gold at Vancouver 2010. Born to skate “I love skating, I love performance and I love perfection.”
Brian Orser truly was the best in the world! Battle of the Brians: Leading into the 1988 Calgary Olympic Games, Brian won his eight National title, a record for the Canadian Championships. Going into the games, Brian was the only world champion Canada had and he was chosen to carry the flag in the opening ceremonies.
