Seine-Saint-Denis (French pronunciation: [sɛn sɛ̃ d(ə)ni]) is a department of France located in the Grand Paris metropolis in the Île-de-France region. In French, it is often referred to colloquially as quatre-vingt treize or neuf trois ("ninety-three" or "nine three"), after its official administrative number, 93.
Saint-Denis is the second most populated suburb of Paris (after Boulogne-Billancourt ), with a population of 113,116 at the 2020 census. It is a subprefecture ( French: sous-préfecture) of the department of Seine-Saint-Denis, being the seat of the arrondissement of Saint-Denis. It is also part of the Métropole du Grand Paris .
La Seine-Saint-Denis est située au nord-est de Paris. Sa superficie est de 236 km2, ce qui en fait l'un des plus petits départements français.
