- Yassin's Falafel House. Yassin Terou’s eponymous restaurant has been a Knoxville staple since opening in 2014. In the decade since, Terou has provided meals for the local homeless population and those displaced by hurricanes, raised significant funds for earthquake relief in Turkey and Syria, and had his restaurant dubbed “Nicest Place in America” by Reader’s Digest and Good Morning America.
- Vida. Originally opened in 1913, the Neo-classical Holston was built as Knoxville’s tallest high-rise. It went through many lives as different banks and, today, is a condo complex with Vida on the ground floor.
- A Dopo. What happens when you strip down the concept of pizza, take a gooey sourdough crust, and bake it in a wood-fired oven to bubbly, charred perfection?
- Potchke. If its name meaning “to fuss around” and its concept of a Jewish gathering place loosely based on Seinfeld tells you anything, it’s that Potchke doesn’t take itself too seriously.
