Beautiful Park with great vistas of Lake Otsego. This park has several things to do, There is the oldest Covered Bridge in the US, Hyde Bridge, it has a public beach for swimming on lake Otsego and it has Hyde Hall, which is an english style mansion dating from 1827. The Mansion is on a bluff overlooking the lake.
Glimmerglass State Park is a 593-acre (2.40 km 2) state park located north of Cooperstown, in Otsego County, New York. Most of the park is located inside the Town of Springfield.
Glimmerglass State Park is a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors at the north end of Otsego Lake, the “Glimmerglass” of James Fenimore Cooper’s Leatherstocking Tales. The rolling terrain of the park is partially wooded, with various ecosystems, wildlife, and points of historic interest.
At the North end of Otsego Lake is Glimmerglass State Park. There are pavillions, camping sites, hiking trails, as well as picnic tables, beachfront swimming, and shower facilities. There is a snack shop in the park as well.
