   • We camped at Flanners Beach Campground in a Motorhome. They have fresh water by the gate to fill up before you enter. The town of New Bern historic district just down the street about 10 miles has great shopping and restaurants.    Why is flanners Beach closed?

   • There are nice hiking/biking trails in the park, but the beach front area is closed due to damage from a previous hurricane. It doesn't appear that they are doing anything to repair the damage at this time. We camped at Flanners Beach Campground in a Motorhome. Electricity worked as expected.

   Is New Bern a good campground?

   • The community water spigot was leaking badly and needed repair. The campground is convenient to the nearby towns of New Bern, Havelock and the US Marine Corps Cherry Point Air Station. Restaurants, gasoline stations, and grocery stores are a short drive from the park and in nearby towns. New Bern has a historic area worth visiting.
