   Beautiful Small Lake in the Mounains. Sep 2014 • Couples. First of all, this lake is not in downtown Buena Vista as the TripAdvisor App map indicates. It is about 10 miles outside of town. To get there take CR 306 (Main Street), which is paved, west out of Buena Vista. Go about 7 miles to come to CR 344 to the left.

A large picnic area with handicapped accessible fishing docks is located on the east side of the lake. A gravel boat ramp is located on the west side of the lake. Non-motorized boats and canoes are allowed.

   How do I get from Buena Vista to Cottonwood Pass?

   • From Buena Vista, Main Street will leave the city limits and will continue west as County Road 306, also known as the Cottonwood Pass road. Stay on this road for about 6 miles then turn left at County Road 344 for about 3 miles. Parking is permitted on the parking pads provided at each campsite. Do not park on the main campground roadway.

   Is Buena Vista Lake a good place to Park?

   • Easy to get to from Buena Vista and very pretty. The area is very popular with fisherman especially. The 'day use' parking area requires a $6 fee. No trailheads in the area but a road that goes along one side of the lake to drive or walk. This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
