   Some may say it is a bit of Christmas magic but it is still a generic story shoe-horned in to a Christmas movie. Having sounded like a Christmas misery I will say that "The Christmas Shepherd" is quite sweet with this tail of a widow, a dog and a family still grieving.

It's very low key in the romance area, and is more about healing and getting on with life. I don't think it's accurate to call it a romance. It's clearly a drama and a Christmas story.

   • I agree with that general observation, HOWEVER, it is intellectually very draining to watch movies like The Christmas Shepherd. The premise is unapologetically trite and devoid of any originality, but I guess that's exactly what sells Harlequin books and Hallmark movies (see my wife's comments above).
