The film takes place on the Greek island of Hydra, where two Athenian visitors become entangled in local feuds after one of them falls in love with a local girl. It was one of the first Greek films to achieve international recognition (Golden Globe award).
Synopsis. An impoverished young girl who loses her sister is ridiculed by a suitor finally finds love and understanding in the arms of a stranger who gives courage and learns to love her when tragedy strikes that engulfs many people and finally sets them free to go on with their lives.
